Launching the Gold Standard for Network Burst: Embracing Microsoft Azure's Public Cloud

Helsinki, Finland, October 24, 2017 ⎯ FusionLayer unveiled a new FusionLayer Infinity 2.5 series, the first Software-Defined IP Address Management solution targeted at enterprises and Managed Service Providers (MSP) active in IT transformation and multi-cloud initiatives. The latest addition to the FusionLayer product family enhances the company’s Hybrid IT solution portfolio by introducing plug-and-play support for Microsoft Azure, the fastest-growing public cloud solution for application delivery.
Leading industry analysts such as Gartner have suggested that Hybrid IT will become the most common cloud usage by 2020. This is expected to cut down the Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) incurred by businesses as the Hybrid IT model allows companies to pay only for the computing capacity that they use. Another prediction from IDC is that 80% of IT organizations will be committed to hybrid architectures by 2018. These developments are expected to accelerate the enterprise IT transformation during the next 2-3 years.
Originally introduced in 2013, the adoption of Hybrid IT strategies was slow to pick up due to information security concerns. These concerns have now been alleviated as many public cloud providers such as AWS and Microsoft Azure has added Virtual Private Clouds (VPC) into their service portfolios. The VPC technology allows enterprises to securely extend their networks into public clouds without exposing their applications to the public internet.
According to RightScale’s 2017 State of the Cloud Report, 85% of enterprises incorporate a multi-cloud strategy as part of their IT transformation efforts. While many small and mid-sized companies are pursuing an IT strategy purely based on public cloud services, most enterprises continue to manage their risk through hybrid cloud strategies that leverage a mixture of private on-premise data centers and public cloud services as Amazon Web-Services and Microsoft Azure.
